Scripture:

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. - Matthew 28:6 KJV

Devotional:

Let me tell you something - the tomb is empty.

Death lost! Hell lost! The grave had to let Him go.

Jesus got up and because He got up, you can too. Everytime life knocks you down, everytime you feel buried under the weight of it all,  Remember: the resurrection is your portion too.

You know that same power that raised Jesus from the dead? It’s alive in YOU!

So why do we live like we’re still in the tomb? Nah. Not today. Not anymore.

We’ve all been to some dark places. Places that tried to bury us - grief, heartbreak, and shame. In your moment of despair know that you serve a Savior who walks into dark places and calls things back to life.

It is because of Christ's resurrection, we know we can rise again. Not by our strength but by His. The resurrection is the ultimate victory. This is the power we walk in as believers. It’s not a power that removes suffering but a power that sustains us through it, knowing that death has already been defeated, and we too will rise with Him.

Reflection & Sharing:

What in your life have you declared dead that God is trying to resurrect? Your Church life? Your Marriage? Your Health? Your Mental Struggles? Your Financial Struggles?  Your Dreams?

Father showed me the scripture found in John 20:1-18 many years ago and it was during one of the darkest times in my life. I have to tell you the lesson Father showed me stays with me up to today. For those who are not familiar with the scripture, Mary Magdelene and the other women came to anoint Yeshua early in the morning on the 1st day of the week and when she got to the tomb, the tomb was empty. She was devastated and full of sorrow, she started crying asking everyone where they put her Lord!!! She kept looking into the darkness of the tomb and there she saw 2 angels where Yeshua laid and she continued to be totally heart broken that her Saviour, her Lord was not there. The lesson for me was that Mary Magdelene was so focused on the darkness of the tomb, the emptiness of the tomb, the answers she was seeking, the angels could not provide, the empty tomb could not heal the pain she was feeling so she continued sobbing in despair. The lesson learned here is that while she was focused on the darkness and emptiness of the tomb, she missed the greatest gift she could ever get. Had she turned away from her focus on the empty tomb and turned around she would have seen Yeshua standing behind her. Lesson learned: Do not focus on the darkness and the emptiness of your situation but trust that Father is standing in the Light waiting for you to turn around and focus on the Light that is found only in Christ Yeshua. May we always look to the hills from which cometh our help, our happiness, everything we will ever need because it comes only from you Lord. Amen
