Scripture-

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)

Devotion-

Giving honor to God, the head of my life—the author and finisher of my faith.

This is a phrase we often say before addressing the church, acknowledging God’s supreme authority in our lives. But do we truly grasp its significance?

As the author of our faith, Jesus is the one who initiates it within us. As the finisher, He perfects and completes it. Our faith journey begins with Him and is brought to fulfillment through Him.

When we face struggles, it’s easy to become overwhelmed. But just as Jesus endured the cross, He did so with His eyes fixed on the joy set before Him—the joy of our redemption, salvation, and the promise of eternity with Him. Likewise, we must look beyond our present pain, suffering, and shame, knowing that God is working all things together for our good.

It can be challenging to not get frustrated or overwhelmed when we run into obstacles. Everyday is an opportunity to show God that we trust Him.

I will lift up my eyes to the hill which cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord. The Lord which made heaven and earth!!! He said he will not suffer my foot to be bruised. The Lord that keepeth thee, he will not slumber nor sleep.... Oh I could go on and on and on.... Oh the author.... The one who wrote my life book, the finisher.... The one who shines me up and makes me presentable, acceptable.... Oh Lord, make me and mold me into who you want me to be!!! Oh Mercy Oh Lord!!!

I’m constantly reminding myself to keep my eyes on Jesus! Many obstacles presented itself this week and while I felt the burden, I left everything at His feet and by the start of today all things were revealed to me. Yes, it’s a challenge but we have to constantly remind ourselves of WHOM we believe in because HE is faithful.
