Scripture:

And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.- Matthew 26:50 KJV

Devotional:

Jesus was betrayed by someone close, Judas, one of His own disciples. He wasn’t stabbed in the back by a stranger, but by someone who shared meals with Him, served beside Him, and even called Him Rabbi. The betrayal came with a kiss.

That’s the sting of it! Some of the deepest wounds come from the people closest to us. Mind blowing?! Even in that painful moment, Jesus called Judas, “Friend”. Not sarcastically, not with malice but with composure and grace. This shows the depth of His love and the strength of His purpose.

Jesus didn’t allow betrayal to distract Him from His mission. He didn’t retaliate or shut down. He moved forward knowing that what He came to do was bigger than the betrayal that tried to break Him.

This moment is a powerful reminder: when betrayal comes, don’t let it stop your purpose. Let it press you deeper into the arms of the One who sees it all and is still working for your good

Reflection & Sharing:

Have you allowed betrayal to harden your heart or derail your assignment? How can you respond with grace and stay focused on what God has called you to do?
