Day 35: The Lord May Not Always Be Available.
SCRIPTURE:
Seek ye The Lord while he may be found…Isaiah 55:6
DEVOTION:
What do you mean seek the Lord while he may be found? Is Father like a mango, that there will be a day, I go into the grocery store and I cannot find him? If the Word of God says that there will come a time when He will not be found, then there will come a time. I look at this scripture and I see this as a command, Seek ye The Lord. I know the word teaches us to hunger and thirst after righteousness (Matt 5:6) which also means hunger and thirst afterThe Christ because He is The Righteous One.The thought of the Lord not being available to me is a scary thought. In what ways will The Lord not be available? I look at the Word of God and I see so many changes to its words, I see places that do not allow the reading of the Bible, I see where Church and State are separated. I see things of God being removed daily from our lives and I see this scripture already happening.
REFLECTION & SHARING:
What ways do you see The Lord disappearing from your life, your community, your jobs, your schools, your churches, your government … can the Lord still be found? Do we have to seek Him while he may still be found? What are you doing in your life to seek after Him while He may be found?
Hmmmm What comes to mind is the movie with Denzel Washington called "The Book of Eli". In the movie, Eli has the last copy of the Bible and he goes through all kinds of battles to keep it safe. At the end of the movie, the precious box that held the last copy of the Bible is opened and it is empty. I will not spoil it for those of you who have not seen the movie, but if you haven't, please look at it...Brothers it is an action flick....Ladies, there is romance in it. Great Movie!!!
Anyhow, Father teaches that we should hide the Word in our hearts so we might not sin against Him. Lord teach me daily to meditate on your Word while I still have access to it. Lord,teach me to hunger and thirst after you. Let me realize that I should seek you while you may be found....Your not being available to me scares me a lot but I trust you Lord. Daily my desire is to draw closer to you until there is no more me and only YOU!!! I want ALL of YOU and none for me. Amen
