SCRIPTURE:
Now as they sat and ate, Jesus said “Verily, I say to you, one of you which eateth with Me will betray me. Mark 14:18
DEVOTION:
Do you have someone in your life that you trust with your life? You know that person that you can call and say “ I waa….” and you know the answer would be yes and the need will be met. What if that person, your ride or die, your best friend, your confidant, your best bud betrayed you in the worst way possible, they caused the demise of your reputation, they slept with your partner, they stole things from you that if they asked, you would have gladly given them, think of the worst thing someone can do to you and think of the closest person to you doing it to cause destruction to you.
Now think about Jesus and Judas. Judas was a bishop (Acts 1:18-20), he handled the monies for Jesus’ ministry (John 13:29), he ministered with Jesus, he healed people yet he betrayed Jesus. Judas did not decide to betray Yeshua on his own, he was possessed by Satan (Luke 22:3-4) to be an instrument in the death of Jesus. Think of how Jesus felt. In spite of all of this, Jesus referred to Judas as a friend when Judas kissed him as the sign of betrayal. Wow!!!
REFLECTION & SHARING:
Stand in front of a mirror and ask yourself these questions….Will I ever betray the person closest to me or anyone in my life? Will I ever betray Jesus? Our initial response would be NEVER!!! Be reminded that “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Eph 6:12) What spirits are you allowing into your life that could possibly cause you to betray?
WOW tough to process betrayal I have been through the motions a few times and I believe that not taking time with what I foresee as betrayal have placed me in situations of my own making for when people show you who they are believe now It is for me a matter of going to God and asking for strength and courage to overcome we look at Judas who was one within the inner circle of Jesus army and he betrayed him so who am I my response with prayer and great reflection can help me to get through.Brethren when life gives lemon I tend to try making lemonade it doesn't always turn out palatable but I have begun to learn how to roll with the punch for we do have our human side and the devil is busy beyond keeping grounded in prayer is a very valuable tool for we wrestle constantly not always flesh and blood but principalities in high places l pray 🙏 that God will keep our minds continuous stayed on him and with a discerning spirit can look at betrayal for what it is and still love 💓 one another
What???? This is a very heavy one!!! I would like to take the high road and say I would NEVER betray someone I love but then I am I reminded that my fight is not against flesh and blood but against principalities in high places... I am reminded that Judas was one of the 12 closest to Jesus. My parents raised me not to let anything that another person has or does burn my eyes or my heart but I think of Lucifer, the covering cherub and what he did. Ohhhhh God, I can only pray daily that I would be obedient to you and allow the angels that you have placed in my life to keep me in all my ways. Oh Merciful Father I ask you to remind me to keep my eyes stayed on you. Lord let me not be distracted by the things of this world. Ohhh Mercy Lord Mercy!! My prayer is to never betray anyone.....more so you My Lord!!!
