These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.- Hebrews 11:13 KJV
What is your attitude when the path ahead is uncertain? For those of us with the spiritual gift of foresight, seeing the outcome of a situation can be both a blessing and a curse. While it offers insight, it also reveals the weight of choices, making the road ahead feel heavier.
In life, there are always two paths: a wide and easy one, and a narrow and difficult one. Many choose the wide path, but it ultimately leads to destruction. Few choose the narrow road—the path of total surrender. It requires believing in God’s promises and trusting His timing, even when the journey is murky and unclear.
The great men and women of faith in the Bible walked this narrow path.
Abel's faith made his offering acceptable to God.
Enoch's faith caused him to be taken by God without experiencing death.
Noah's faith led him to build an ark in preparation for a flood no one believed was coming.
Abraham's faith caused him to leave his homeland, trusting God for an inheritance he had not yet seen.
Sarah's faith enabled her to conceive a child, despite her old age, because she trusted in God's promise.
Like them, will you hold on and trust God when you cannot see the road ahead?
Hebrews 11:13 reminds us that these heroes of faith "died in faith without having received the promises, but they saw them from a distance, greeted them, and confessed that they were foreigners and temporary residents on the earth." They trusted in God's faithfulness, even without seeing the fulfillment.
When you face seasons of transformation, will you walk by faith or turn back? Will you trust that even when the outcome is unclear, God is still leading you toward His promises?
Today's meditation takes me to 2 places.... If you have never heard James Fortune's song.... I trust you Lord... Take a listen.... Some serious lyrics!!! And a little poem that is in a book I used for meditation since 1993... Acts of Faith and it goes like this:
"When you come to the end of all light that you know and you are about to step into the darkness, know that one out of 2 things will happen, YOU will step on something solid or God will teach you how to fly".
I have held on to that poem for now ... Over 3 decades and it is still relevant in my life
I look at the meditation today and the word " unclear" jumps out at me .... Walk with me .... For something to be unclear means that it once was clear.... Example you cannot untie your show laces if they were not tied first.... When I am in unclear situations I go back to when it was clear and look at what is causing this change in my outlook, all the while asking Father to direct my path. Confusion does not come from God but He allows it. Meditate on why your path is unclear and seek Father's direction, ask Him to put His Words in your mouth, ask Him to order your steps in His Way.... As we continue on this path, it will become clearer and clearer. Amen
