Scripture:
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 KJV
Devotional:
When Jesus walked on earth, He demonstrated unwavering faith in His Father, openly declaring that they were one. At the Wedding of Cana, when the wine ran out, Mary immediately turned to Jesus. Even though His time had not yet come, she fully believed in His authority and power. Her confidence was so strong that she told the servants, “Do whatever He tells you,” before Jesus even performed the miracle.
In obedience, the servants followed Jesus simple instruction to fill the water pots with water. Though it seemed ordinary and perhaps even foolish, their faith-driven obedience set the stage for the miraculous. Jesus revealed His glory by turning the water into wine, showing that faith in Him can transform even the most impossible situations.
This story reminds us that faith is more than belief. It requires action. Mary didn’t just hope Jesus could intervene; she acted on that hope. The servants didn’t just hear Jesus words—they obeyed them, even when the outcome seemed unclear.
So, what does faith mean to you? Is it the foundation of your hope? Faith is the substance that gives weight to what our hearts long for and the evidence of what we cannot yet see. It’s trusting God’s promises before they are fulfilled and moving forward with confidence, knowing He is able to do far more than we can imagine.
Today, may you be encouraged to step out in faith, even when the results are uncertain because it is through trust and obedience that God often reveals His greatest glory.

Good afternoon family, as i meditate on today's devotional about Faith i immediately thought of my 6 year old niece. That young lady has one of the greatest imaginations I've seen in a while. Last week she Todd me she is going to be a traveling surgeon that travels the universe. I was exhausted for her lol, but then I thought about my prayer life and realized that I have lost my imagination as I got older. I have put restrictions on what I ask of God due to fear of rejection, disappointment and what I deem realistic.
To be quite honest I don't even really know what Lent is really about. What I do know is this last 20 + days that I have spent reading and reflecting has forced me to really look at myself. Look at all the blessings that my Father has provided for me and the people I love. I am learning to really trust God with my heart, my steps and my future. I am continuing to take the restrictions off little by little and build a closer relationship with The Most High!
A Blessed Morning and Grand Rising to all.
Wow!!! As we start week 4 of "Drawing closer to God", what an appropriate topic. I have been feeling despondent about the response I have been seeing on this walk of Drawing Closer to Father and closer together as a body and BAM!!! Here comes this devotional about having faith. You know every time I read or hear about the Wedding at Cana, I gleam a new experience... Today, it is about Vision, Obedience and Excellence. We sometimes look at people walking in faith as fool hardy, or pie in the sky thinkers but I keep thinking of a practice I adopted many decades ago, yes I said decades ago that today's devotion reminded me of.... Whenever, I am ready to move to another place in life, I started physically preparing for it... If it was a new job, I would start cleaning up my office, start packing things in boxes, throwing out things I no longer needed or repurposed them, little did I know I was making room for new blessings but I was walking in it. My 2 year old son taught me about faith 27 years ago... I just got home from work and my hands were full and he kept tugging at my skirt, I finally looked down to see his little hands full with papers.... I put down the items in my hands so I could receive the blessings that my son was giving me. In order for us to walk in faith, it may be necessary to evaluate what are you holding on to that is preventing you to go to the next step in your walk. Strange analogies but real ones that help with my "Faith Walk". Remember... Excellence, Obedience and Vision to Father's calling is so necessary daily. God Bless
Blessings.
