SCRIPTURE:

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. - Luke 6:28

DEVOTION:

Father, you want me to do what? You want me to bless those who curse me? Why should I do that? Why should I pray for those who despitefully use me? Lord, I know you have called us to be a peculiar people (1 Peter 2:9) but isn’t this going too far? Why should I do this? What? Because all souls belong to you (Ezekiel 18:4), good and bad? And you do not want anyone to perish but that we all come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Lord, teach me to have a heart like yours.

REFLECTION & SHARING:

Sometimes Father teaches us to do something that our human nature does not comprehend nor are we willing to do it because it goes against what we think we should do. Lord teach us to be obedient to your word, all of it, whether I like it or agree with it. Teach me that being obedient to your Word gives honor to you. Amen.

Another challenging concept because why would I be kind to someone who wishes bad for me? But when you think about the concept of praying for those that curse you God is calling you to be the bigger person. Realize that it is not truly about you but really something is broken in them. My prayer is for The Most High to continue guiding me in my growth to not take on or hold on to negativity and find true forgiveness in my heart as Christ has given to me.

Today's Meditation is Tough!!Ouch!!! Lord mold me into who you want me to be.... I cannot do it on my own 😭. Lord, break me down so You can build me up in the way you want me, Lord, put all good things in my mouth so I may speak of Your Goodness, so I may speak of your Mercy, so I may speak of Your Love, so I may speak of Your Forgiveness.... Oh Lord teach me to Love the way you Love, teach me to Forgive like you do, teach me how to bless even when I do not think they deserve it..... Oh Mercy Lord Mercy. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be Acceptable in Thy sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Amen.
