SCRIPTURE:

Verily, I say unto you, that one of you will betray me  -  Matthew 26:21

DEVOTION:

What would your response be if you were one of Jesus’ closest peeps and you heard Him say that one of those closest to Him, one of the people that proclaimed their love for him, ones who ministered with him day in, day out, one of the people who claimed that they will be with him until the end of time, His ride or die would betray him and deny Him. You would probably say “Nah, not me, I am true to the bone” yet when it came to your own safety or betterment, you betrayed and denied Him.

REFLECTION & SHARING:

Are there times in your daily walk when you choose your physical betterment than your spiritual betterment in the Lord?  How many times do you choose your financial well being instead of your spiritual well being? Did you ask Father for something and promise that if He gave you what you asked for, you would serve Him in the way you should? Yet, when you do get it, you forget about the promises you made to God. Thank God, we serve a merciful God, who is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:19). Ask Father for forgiveness and choose your Abba Father over everything else in your life. The Benefits of doing this are out of this world!!! Try it!!

Hmmmmm. I pray that when given the option to choose My Lord over anything, even death, I would choose Him. There is a book called "Foxe's Book of Martyrs".... I started reading but soon had to put it down because of what was being described is how people were killed for believing in our Lord and Saviour!!! I hope to pick it up again real soon and continue. I pray that my faith is increased seeing others who chose Christ over life itself.
As I read today's devotional, I also think of a 16 year old girl, her name slips my memory now, she was a student at Columbine High school where one of the first mass shootings took place in a school... She was asked "Do you love Jesus?". Her response was "Yes". The gunman, one of her school mates, open fire on her. The last thing she did in life, was proclaim her love for her Lord and Savior. I also think of Stephen, who was stoned to death for believing in Yeshua and the things of God. The Word of God states that while he was being stoned, Father opened up Heaven and Stephen was able to say "I see Heaven and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God" (Acts 7:54-59).
My Lord, help me oh Lord to have that kind of faith and trust in you that if given the opportunity to die for my belief in you that I will not forsake you. Knowing that even if I die, I will still live through You!!! Mercy!!! Mercy Lord Mercy!!!

Good day family another thought provoking devotional. The part about putting financial needs in front of my spiritual needs i am guilty of just this a.m. I have committed to an hour of prayer before it start my work day and today was hard because I know it's a busy day so my mind starts thinking about it. Not fair to Him who is my ultimate provider. I pray that The Most High continues to bring these revelations forth to my attention so I can grow in my walk with Him.

On the days I actually slow down and spend time with God before jumping into everything, I notice a huge difference. I’m more patient, more understanding, and things just don’t get to me as easily. But when I skip that time? Whew!!!I’m edgy, snappy, and quick to lose it.

Here thinking 🤔 how do we respond when people betray us? Honestly, after being hurt and let down so many times, I’ve stopped letting people get too close. Trusting others doesn’t come easy for me anymore. I know that’s not the best way to be, but it’s the truth.

Still, I try to check myself. Am I handling things the way Christ would? Am I giving grace and forgiving, even when it’s hard? Every day I ask God to help me do better, and lately I’m becoming more aware of my flaws.

It’s a process. But I’m learning, and I’m growing.
